What is Mosquito Net?
An aid to Developing Requirements
By allowing you to create, refine, discuss and track requirements Mosquito Net can aid you in developing your product from the earliest stages. Allow your users to input their own requirements, or feed them in yourself, and then let developers provide their feedback. Once you are happy your requirement has been finalised, the ticket can be used by developers as a guide to carry out the work. Tickets also act as an audit trail to catalogue work done and prove it meets the original requirements.
A Defect Management System
It provides a way of tracking defects/bugs/issues throughout the development lifecycle of your software or website. Tickets are assigned to specific users to ensure no issues are lost, and unassigned or dormant tickets raise automated responses to designated Admin users. By helping you reduce the amount of faults that get lost through the development lifestyle, Mosquito Net can aid you in improving the quality of product or service you deliver to your customers.
A Project Management Aid
Detailed statistics are automatically generated on any project that uses Mosquito Net. At a glance users can see the number of incidents active on any project they have permission to view, whom those tickets are assigned to and what severity they are. As a reporting tool Mosquito Net can help you track project issues from start to finish, and quickly produce print outs of project progress.
An Incident Management Tool
Once your software/website has been released, Mosquito Net can be used to deal with issues that arise post-release. By providing high visibility of issues and allowing developers to respond quickly, most issues can be neutralised fast and with a reduced impact on the end-users.
A Change Request Log
Existing systems can also use Mosquito Net to allow users to provide feedback and make suggestions for improvements or functional changes to it. Again, no input runs the risk of being lost or ignored, and the intelligent alert system allows high visibility of suggestions to all stakeholders.
History
Mosquito Net was designed as an in-house tool by ExeTech Web Design, in order to help us track requirements and later defects when designing/upgrading web solutions. We found it to be immensely helpful in communicated both between the development team and with clients throughout the length of projects.
As projects went by we continued to develop and expand the application, adding new functionality and ironing out bugs as we went. It is now a multi-faceted and versatile web application that is capable of performing jobs that would normally require several isolated and non-interacting systems. We can now offer all these services as part of one package, making development simpler, easier and cheaper.
